Privacy Policy
When you place an order or subscribe through the website, you may give personal information such as your name, email address, billing and shipping address, telephone number, information about what you ordered, information relating to your subscription and communications you send to me.
The website is hosted by Squarespace, which also receives information needed to operate the website and process orders. Squarespace's own guidance says its commerce system may collect customer names, email addresses, billing and shipping addresses, order details and telephone numbers where provided.
Payments
Payments are handled through the payment services provided through Squarespace.
I do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.
Squarespace Payments uses third-party providers including Stripe for payment processing.
Why I use your information
I use personal information where necessary to process and fulfil orders, manage subscription payments, ship products to you, contact you about an order or subscription, process refunds, returns, lost parcels, customer service enquiries or to comply with legal obligations.
I do not operate an email newsletter or use your order details to send marketing newsletters.
You may still receive essential emails connected with an order or subscription, such as purchase, payment, account or shipping notifications. Squarespace distinguishes these transactional messages from marketing emails.
Gallery submissions
Gallery submissions involving children must be made by a parent or guardian.
When you submit artwork and state “I give permission to be featured”, I use the information and artwork you have voluntarily provided for the purpose of considering and displaying that submission on The Bear Home's website and/or social media accounts.
I will only publish information that has been supplied or approved for that purpose.
A parent or guardian may withdraw permission for future use by contacting sarah@thebearhome.co.uk. I will remove material from locations under my control within a reasonable time where possible.
Who information is shared with
Personal information is shared only where reasonably necessary, for example with Squarespace, which hosts and operates the website/store, and with payment-processing and fraud-prevention providers used by Squarespace, and postal or delivery companies where information is needed to deliver your order.
I do not sell customer personal information to other companies.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including fulfilling orders, managing subscriptions, dealing with queries and meeting tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
Website visitor information
Squarespace may automatically receive technical information when you visit the website, including information about your browser, device, network, IP address and pages viewed. Squarespace states that this information is used to operate, protect and improve its platform and services.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction or deletion and to object to or restrict certain uses.
